I have heard some good guitar manufacturers talking about the advantages of sprayed polyurethane varnish in relation to hand applied lacquer, adding that the difference in sound is “insignificant”.

Talking also about the advantages of current glues, black glue or warm glue, explaining that the difference of sound is almost “insignificant”. That sanding perfectly all braces and adjusting clamps makes an “insignificant” difference.

I am not going to question any of these statements, but I ask myself if a series of “insignificances” does not make the difference.

Premium quality is essential in the raw material, woods, as well as in glues and varnishes.

Nevertheless it is not enough, to design a good guitar you have to take into account a series of proportions, both for the design of the sound box and the braces .

All things considered, the vibration of the strings ranges between 82.4hz in MI, 6th string free and 1046hz in DO fret 20 on the first string.

All of it, as a whole, is what determines the sound box to turn the waves into sounds. Generally speaking, the air is the one who transmits vibrations, spreads sound and our ear the receptor is the one to detect the waves.
